PRINCETON, N.J. – Junior Yoyo Greenfield scored 11 points and senior Haywood Wright tallied 10 for the Yale women's basketball team on Saturday night at Princeton, but the host Tigers remained unbeaten in Ivy League play with a 69-48 victory. Senior Melissa Colborne had eight points and a team-best eight rebounds for the Bulldogs, and junior Mady Gobrecht netted nine points and hauled in five boards. Colborne and Gobrecht shared the team high with four assists apiece.

Yale, which defeated Penn last night, falls to 7-11 with the loss and drops to an even 2-2 in Ivy League play. The Tigers improved to 15-2 overall and a perfect 3-0 in the Ancient Eight.

Greenfield's team-high scoring output came on a 4-for-8 shooting day, including a 3-for-6 tally behind the three-point arc. As a team, the Bulldogs shot 35.4% (17-48) from the floor, 25% (4-16) from three-point range and 90.9% (10-11) from the free throw line.

The Tigers, who had four players in double figures, shot 49.1% (26-53) from the field, 40% (2-5) from downtown and 93.8% (15-16) from the charity stripe. Addie Micir led all players with 16 points for Princeton,, and Devona Allgood posted a double-double with 10 points and 10 rebounds.

“We were fine defensively,” said Chris Gobrecht, Yale's Joel E. Smilow, Class of 1954 Head Coach of Women's Basketball. “The easy buckets we allowed off turnovers are what broke our back tonight.”

Princeton converted 20 Yale turnovers into 22 points, while the Bulldogs netted just eight points off of 15 Tigers' miscues.

The Bulldogs started the game in a shooting funk, hitting just two of their first 10 from the field as Princeton grabbed a 14-6 edge. Yale shot nearly 50% (5-12) from the floor for the remainder of the frame, but the Tigers maintained their offensive pace, entering the intermission with a double-digit cushion at 28-17.

Gobrecht had seven points to lead the Bulldogs, who shot 31.8% (7-22) from the field, 16.7% (1-6) from three-point range and 66.7% (2-3) from the free throw line. Colborne netted six points for Yale, while Greenfield and Wright had one bucket apiece. Cashen grabbed a team-best four boards for the Bulldogs as Princeton claimed a slight edge on the glass, 16-14. Micir led all players with 10 first-half points as the Tigers shot 44% (11-25) from the floor, 33.3% (1-3) from beyond the arc and connected on all five of their attempts from the charity stripe.

The second half began as a back-and-forth affair as three early three-pointers from Greenfield sparked a stretch that brought Yale as close as eight points, but a late 17-0 run by the Tigers put the game firmly out of reach. Princeton would lead by as many as 27 en route to a 69-48 victory.

The Bulldogs return home next weekend as the Ivy League's New York contingent visits the John J. Lee Amphitheater. Cornell treks the Elm City on Friday, Feb. 5 for a 7 p.m. showdown, and Columbia, which travels to Brown on Friday, will challenge the Bulldogs on Saturday, Feb. 6 at 6 p.m. Both games will feature live stats as well as streaming audio and video via Yale All-Access.
