Thalman Makes Eight Saves In Goal

HANOVER, N.H. – Sebastian Serra scored his first career goal for the Yale men's soccer team on Saturday at Dartmouth. Unfortunately for the Bulldogs it didn't come in a victory. Lucky Mkosana had a goal and an assist to lead the Big Green to a 3-1 win over Yale at Burnham Field.

Serra's goal came off a blast from the middle of the box. It was assisted by Eric Meyer and tied the score at 1-1 at 57:13.

The Big Green, though, tallied the game-winner less than two minutes later. Mkosana sent a cross to Aaron Gaide, whose sliding shot found the back of the net.

Mkosana then added an insurance goal at 65:01 when he dribbled through the defense and blasted a shot into the goal.

"I thought we did really well to fight our way back into the game, but they were able to create some key moments," said Yale head coach Brian Tompkins.

After a scoreless first half, the Big Green jumped on top at 47:55 on a Daniel Keat one-timer from 20 yards out.

Dartmouth finished with a 20-7 edge in shots.

"We ran into a very good team that had us under pressure," Tompkins said. "We weren't able to capitalize on our chances."

Goalkeeper Bobby Thalman made eight saves for the Bulldogs, who play their third straight Ivy League road game at Cornell next Saturday at 7 p.m.
