Hartje has Two Points but Unbeaten Streak Ends at Seven

No. 6 Bulldogs fall in OT to No. 5 Quinnipiac

STORRS, Conn. – Elle Hartje had a goal and an assist and Gianna Meloni made 30 saves, but the No. 6 Yale Women's Hockey Team fell to No. 5 Quinnipiac 3-2 in overtime of the Nutmeg Classic at Freitas Ice Forum. It was the Eli's first loss in eight games.

The Bulldogs led 2-0 after one period and 2-1 heading into the third. The Bobcats pulled their goalie for an extra skater with two minutes left and got the equalizer with 38 seconds remaining in regulation. They also found the net at 3:08 of the extra session to get them into the championship game against UConn, while the Elis will face Sacred Heart tomorrow at 3 p.m. in the third-place contest.

Hartje got the first of Yale's two goals in the first period when she converted a Rebecca Vanstone pass. Emma Seitz the hottest Bulldog, scored her eighth goal in the last six games to make it 2-0.
