NEW HAVEN, Conn. – Yale volleyball fans were treated to another five-set match at Lee Amphitheater. And the Bulldogs made sure they didn't go home disappointed.
Kathryn Attar posted a double-double (11 kills, 13 digs) as Yale rallied for a thrilling five-set victory over Penn.
The Bulldogs trailed 2-1 but rallied to win the final two sets, including a dominant 15-8 victory in the fifth set.
Audrey Leak closed out the win with a strong kill, her sixth of the match.
Carly Diehl added 32 assists,
Fatima Samb contributed 10 kills, and
Maile Somera had 10 digs.
Yale also finished with seven service aces, adding to its league-leading total.
"We battled very hard," said Yale head coach
Erin Appleman. "Tiffany [Pedersen-Henry] came in played great, and
Cara Shultz was amazing."
The Bulldogs (15-5, 8-3 Ivy) have now won five straight matches.
Yale plays its home finale on Saturday, hosting Princeton at 5 p.m. on Senior Night. The Tigers lost at Brown on Friday.
