Bulldogs Fall to Colgate

NEW HAVEN, Conn. – The No. 3 Yale women's hockey team fell to No. 6 Colgate, 5-3, at Ingalls Rink. With the loss, the Bulldogs moved to 8-1-1 overall and 4-1-1 in the ECAC, while the Raiders improved to 15-2-1 overall and 6-1-0 in the conference.

How It Happened
  • After a scoreless first period, Yale hopped on the board in the second. Anna Bargman grabbed the puck from a Colgate defender and slid it over to Elle Hartje on the left side. Hartje skated towards goal, pulling the defender towards her and then dropped a pass to Bargman, who ripped a shot on one knee past the Raider's goalie.
  • Yale held the lead until Colgate scored the equalizer at 7:58 of the second period. The Raiders went on to add three more unanswered goals in the period.
  • Hartje was involved in the team's second goal as she made a slick pass through traffic and found Carina DiAntonio, who netted it top shelf with 44 seconds left in the period.
  • Late in the third period, the Raiders found the back of the net and increased their lead to three goals once again.
  • It was Hartje again for Yale, netting the third goal with six seconds left in the game.

Notes
  • Pia Dukaric made 26 saves in goal for the Bulldogs.
  • Elle Hartje was involved in all three goals for Yale.
  • This was Hartje's second multi-point game this season. It was also the seventh three-point game of her career.
  • Hartje is riding a six-game point streak.
