Game Recap: Women's Ice Hockey | | Steve Conn

Win Streak Ends at Six in 4-1 loss at No. 9 Quinnipiac

Bargman gets 10th goal of the year

HAMDEN, Conn.  – First place was on the line tonight in a battle of top 10 teams at Frank Perrotti Arena, and the No. 6 Yale Women's Ice Hockey Team had its win streak end at six games with a 4-1 setback against No. 9 Quinnipiac.

The Bulldogs had a 39-27 advantage in shots but could not solve a hot goaltender and now need some help to claim a regular season ECAC Championship. Harvard's win over RPI tonight moved the Crimson a point ahead of the Elis with one game left.

Yale is at Princeton Saturday at 3 p.m. to close the regular season, while Harvard takes on Union.

The home team got on the board first tonight, but Anna Bargman tallied her 10th of the year to even things midway through the first period. Elle Hartje, who leads the team with a Yale record 30 assists this season, had the puck behind the goal line and put it on the rookie's stick in the slot for a one-time snipe that went top shelf.

The visitors poured shots on the QU net the rest of the way without fortune.

Gianna Meloni finished with 23 saves for the Elis, who seek their 22nd win of the year at Baker Rink tomorrow.
