YALE ANNOUNCES NEW SPECTATOR POLICIES EFFECTIVE FEB. 11
NEW HAVEN, Conn. – The Yale women's basketball team has a chance to make Saturday's game vs. Cornell (2:00 p.m.,
ESPN+,
Live Stats) a memorable one in many ways. It is Senior Day, and the team will honor the members of the Class of 2022: forward
Alex Cade (Shaker Heights, Ohio), guard/forward
Robin Gallagher (Cary, N.C.) and guard
Roxanne Nesbitt (Chicago, Ill.). The Bulldogs also have a chance to clinch a spot in the Ivy League Tournament.
Senior Class
The three seniors have helped the Yale women's basketball program to several notable accomplishments. The 2019-20 team won 19 games, tying the school record. This year's Bulldogs are second in the Ivy League in team defense and swept the series with Penn for the first time in nine years. The seniors have also helped Yale beat archrival Harvard three times in three seasons.
Forward
Alex Cade (Shaker Heights, Ohio) is one of Yale's emotional leaders. A formidable presence in the paint, this season she ranks sixth in the Ivy League in rebounding. She has established career highs in every major statistical category, including points, rebounds, blocks and assists. She began her Yale career back in 2017-18, when she helped the Bulldogs earn a spot in the Ivy League Tournament. She then helped the team win that year's WBI Championship to become the first Ivy League women's basketball team to win a national postseason tournament. She is a mechanical engineering major in Saybrook College.
Guard/forward
Robin Gallagher (Cary, N.C.) has been a regular contributor throughout her career and now provides the Bulldogs with a valuable veteran presence in the backcourt. Her single-game high in points is 17, set in the win at Dartmouth in 2019. This season she has established career highs in points, rebounds and steals while earning a pair of starts. She is a molecular, cellular and developmental biology major in Ezra Stiles College.
Guard
Roxanne Nesbitt (Chicago, Ill.) has emerged as one of the team's leaders after initially joining the Bulldogs as a walk-on. She appeared in a pair of games her first season, then scored the first points of her career in the win vs. Sacred Heart her sophomore season. After helping the Bulldogs tie the school record for wins in a season that year, she was elected captain for 2021-22 by her teammates. Her strength of character has earned her the respect of everyone involved with the program. She is majoring in economics and mathematics and is in Davenport College.
Last Game
Yale (14-10, 7-5 Ivy League) finished last weekend with a road split, falling to Princeton on Saturday after a win at Penn Friday. Junior forward
Camilla Emsbo (Lakewood, Colo.) led the Bulldogs with 11 points and five rebounds against the Tigers.
Ivy Outlook
Yale enters the weekend in sole possession of third place in the Ivy League at 7-5. The Bulldogs are three games behind second-place Columbia and have a one-game lead on the two teams tied for fourth (Harvard and Penn). Harvard hosts first-place Princeton Saturday, while Penn hosts seventh-place Dartmouth. Sixth-place Cornell (4-8) cannot catch the Bulldogs in the standings. A win by Yale Saturday would ensure that the Bulldogs could finish no worse than in a three-way tie for third place with Harvard and Penn. The Bulldogs have a tiebreaker advantage on Penn, having gone 2-0 vs. the Quakers this year. Yale split the season series with Harvard, and Harvard split the season series with Penn. Two weekends remain in the regular season, with the Ivy League Tournament set for Harvard's Lavietes Pavilion Mar. 11 and 12.
Ivy Seeding Tiebreakers
A complete list of Ivy League tournament seeding tiebreakers is

Home is Where the Wins Are
Yale is 6-3 at home this season and 22-10 (.688) at John J. Lee Amphitheater since the start of the 2018-19 season.
Clark Closes in on School Assists Record

Kathleen Offer '96 in 1994-95 (156). Clark has had 10 or more assists in a game three times this season, with a high of 11 (Jan. 15 at Cornell).
