HANOVER, N.H. – The Yale softball team continued its home run barrage Sunday at Dartmouth. Unfortunately for the Bulldogs, the Big Green's bats were alive as well.
Maddie Latta and
Katie Donahey each went deep for Yale, but Dartmouth also got a pair of home runs and knocked off the Bulldogs 10-3 on a cold and blustery day in New Hampshire.
It was still a productive weekend for Yale, which won twice in the three-game series.
Latta's homer in the third inning tied the score at 2-2 and was her third long ball of the series.
The Big Green, though, answered with three runs in the bottom of the third.
Donahey hit her second home run of the series in the fourth, but Dartmouth again responded, scoring twice in the bottom of the fourth to take a 7-3 lead.
The Big Green added three runs in the sixth to seal the victory.
Yale, which entered the weekend with seven home runs in its first 15 games, belted eight in the three games with Dartmouth.
Sam Goodcase had two more hits to raise her batting average to .426.
Grayson Vives also had a pair of hits for the Bulldogs.
Next up for Yale is a single game at Fairfield on Wednesday at 3 p.m.
