NEW HAVEN, Conn. – The Yale men's soccer team has enjoyed great success in non-conference play so far this season. The Bulldogs are unbeaten (4-0-3) through seven games and are coming off a 1-1 tie at No. 4 Duke on Tuesday. Now, they hope that momentum carries over to Ivy League play. Yale hosts Penn on Saturday in its Ivy opener. Kickoff at Reese Stadium is slated for 7 p.m.

Kahveh Zahiroleslam scored the tying goal at 68:33 against the Blue Devils on Tuesday. The Bulldogs outshot Duke 11-10 and had more high-quality scoring opportunities. It was the second result against a nationally ranked opponent for Yale, which beat West Virginia, ranked No. 10 by Top Drawer Soccer at the time, 2-1 on Sept. 9.

Yale, which received 16 votes in the latest United Soccer Coaches' national poll this week, has won four its last five games. All four victories came by one goal.

The Quakers (5-1-1) have won four straight matches, their longest winning streak since 2010, and are tied for sixth in the nation with a +16 goal differential. Penn averages 3.0 goals per game, which is also sixth nationally. Michael Hewes and Stas Korzenlowski lead the team with five goals. The two, along with Yale's
Paolo Carroll and two other players, share the league lead in goals. The Quakers are coming off a 3-0 victory at DePaul on Sunday.
