Dukaric, Hartje Reach Milestones; Bulldogs Down Brown

PROVIDENCE, R.I. – Junior Elle Hartje and sophomore Pia Dukaric reached career and program milestones as the Yale women's hockey team defeated Brown, 4-0, at Meehan Auditorium. The Bulldogs' record improved to 17-1-1 overall and 10-1-1 in the ECAC, while the Bears fell to 5-13-1 overall and 3-9-0 in the conference.

How It Happened
  • The first half of the first period was scoreless between both sides. Then, in a span of just over a minute, Yale opened the scoring floodgates.
  • At 12:34, Vita Poniatovskaia flicked a pass down to Charlotte Welch in the corner on the goal line. Welch made a one-touch no-look pass to Claire Dalton all alone in front of the goal for the top-shelf finish.
  • At 12:57, Emma Harvey had the puck on the boards and slid it up to Sylvia Bojarski at the point. Bojarski fired a shot at goal that ricocheted off a Brown player and landed back at the stick of Harvey who lofted a shot that found the back of the net.
  • At 13:42, Tijana Miskovic banked a shot off the boards behind the goal that Naomi Boucher one-touched to Kiersten Goode on the doorstep.
  • Second period action was riddled with penalties for both teams.
  • With 35 seconds remaining in the second, Bojarski powered through center ice and advanced the puck to Dalton at the blueline. Dalton fed the puck to a breaking Elle Hartje to bury bottom right.

Notes
  • With 12 saves and no goals against, Pia Dukaric earned the shutout and broke the single-season program record for shutouts. The sophomore now has six this season.
  • Elle Hartje reached the 100-career point mark with her second period goal.
  • Hartje became the fifth player in program history to reach 100 career points. Fellow teammates Claire Dalton and Charlotte Welch hit the milestone earlier this season.
  • Charlotte Welch is on a five-game point streak, while Vita Poniatovskaia is riding a four-game streak.
