NEW YORK, N.Y. – The Yale women's soccer team was defeated by Columbia, 4-0, at the Rocco B. Commisso Soccer Stadium. With the loss, Yale fell to 5-5-5 overall and 0-4-2 in the Ivy League, while the Lions improved to 8-3-3 overall and 2-2-2 in the league.
"We knew going into the game that Columbia is a good team that is going to be dangerous when they get looks. They showed that today," said Sarah Martinez, Loring Family Head Coach. "A disappointing performance by us but we still had stretches of the game when we created chances. Goals change games and we needed to get one when we had the momentum in the second half. One more opportunity for us to play together as we host a very good Harvard team. There is nothing I want more than to send our seniors, who have given so much to this program, off with a quality performance."
