Bulldogs Take Game One in ECAC Quarterfinals Against Harvard

NEW HAVEN, Conn. – The No. 2/2 Yale women's hockey team defeated Harvard, 4-2, in game one of a best-of-three series in the ECAC Quarterfinals. The win puts Yale at 27-2-1 overall, while the Crimson fell to 7-20-3.

  • P1, 13:16 | Harvard was the one to strike first.
  • P1, 10:53 | Just over two minutes later, Harvard took a two-goal lead.
  • P2, 12:58 | Jordan Ray got the Bulldogs on the board to split Harvard's lead. A shot from Emma Seitz at the point bounced off the skate of Elle Hartje for Ray to scoop up and bury for goal one.
  • P2, 4:30 | It was Ray in tandem with Hartje again for Yale's second goal. Hartje broke into the zone, shielded the puck, and left it for Ray, who ripped a missile on net for the game-tying goal.
  • P3, 9:01 | Vita Poniatovskaia slapped a shot on net that bounced off of Naomi Boucher and landed alone in front. Grace Lee capitalized on the loose puck and slotted it far side for the goal and eventual game-winner.
  • P3, 1:18 | Charlotte Welche iced the game with an empty net goal.

  • Pia Dukaic made 20 saves in the victory.
  • Elle Hartje tied the Yale single-season program record for assists (35). It was a record Hartje already owned as she originally broke it last season.
  • Hartje is also riding a 16-game point streak.
  • Jordan Ray is riding a seven-game point streak. It was her fourth game this season with two goals and her 10th multi-point game.
  • This was the sixth game-winning goal of Grace Lee's career and her first of the season.
  • The victory set a new single-season wins record (27).
