Scoring Summary
Notes
- Junior goalkeeper Alexa Pitts came on in relief of senior Luanna Summer to play the final 53:26. It was Pitts' first appearance in a game since playing 4:24 Sept. 3, 2021, the only other appearance of her career so far.
- After being outshot 5-0 in the first quarter, the Bulldogs roared back to outshoot QU 4-0 in the second quarter. Senior forward/midfielder Ashley Kim scored on a penalty corner 16 seconds before halftime, taking a direct feed from inserter junior midfielder/forward Ellie Barlow.
- Kim now has three goals in the last three games.
- Yale went ahead 2-1 in the third on a penalty corner. Barlow, the inserter, deflected in a shot by junior back Colette Staadecker.
- Pitts made a kick save on a Bobcat penalty corner with 6:30 to play to preserve the lead. It was her third and final save of the game.
- A yellow card at 57:40 and a green card at 59:19 made things challenging for the Bulldogs, who thus were two players down for the final 41 seconds. Junior back Keely Comizio intercepted a QU pass in the Yale circle with 30 seconds to play, and Barlow sent the ball all the way down the field as the final seconds ticked away to seal the win.
- This was the 12th time in the last 14 meetings between these two teams that the game was decided by one goal.
- There was rain, heavy at times, throughout the game.
