BRONX, N.Y. – Four different goal scorers found the back of the net as the Yale women's soccer team captured a dominant win over Fordham, 4-1. The win puts the Bulldogs at 5-2-2 overall, while the Rams fell to 3-6-2.
Â
"Tonight was a great night for our program to bounce back from a tough result on Saturday," said
Sarah Martinez, Loring Family Head Coach. "Four different goal scorers and quality minutes from all our players made for a special night as a team. We have a group that is starting to really believe how good we can be and have truly bought into our system and process. Their ability to grow after each game is why I think this group has such high potential."

Scoring Summary
- 24' | Anita Thorvaldsdottir dribbled into the final third, managed to squeak the ball through four Fordham defenders and to the left foot of Meredith Phillips for her to bang home.
- 47' | Ellie Rappole made it a two-goal lead with a blistering shot from 30 yards out.
- 69' | The goal sequence for the Bulldogs started with two, one-touch passes from Rebeka Róth to Annika Bryant to Belle Golden. Golden took a one-touch, left-footed pass of her own and found Alanna Butcher in front. Butcher, with her back to goal, headed it into the top left corner for the fancy finish.
- 72' | It was Golden and Butcher connecting once again, but this time in reverse order. Butcher found Golden through a defender's five-hole as Golden split two more players and managed a shot with pressure that ended up in the back of the net.
- 73' | Fordham got a goal on the board just over a minute later.
