Bulldogs Explode in Second Half; Blank Boston University

 NEW HAVEN, Conn. – Make it four-straight victories for the Bulldogs as they blanked Boston University, 3-0, at Reese Stadium to close their non-conference slate of games.
 
"These mid-week games can be tough between conference competitions, but I'm proud of our group for coming out ready to play," Sarah Martinez, Loring Family Head Coach. "A lot of players got meaningful minutes, Nana [Yang] with a goal and an assist on her birthday, Abi [Solomon] with her first career goal, and Amelia [Warren] with her Yale Soccer debut. I want the team to enjoy this tonight as we have to shift our focus quickly back to Ivy League play and Penn on Saturday."

Game Summary
  • Just about two minutes into the second half, the Terriers seemingly broke the deadlock, but the goal was called back and called offside.
  • 69' | Ellie Rappole's service on the corner caused chaos in front of goal. The ball bounced off Boston's goalkeeper and captain Nana Yang buried a shot in the back of the cage to give Yale the lead.
  • 80' | Another goal came for Yale off the corner, but this time started from the foot of Karoline Hernes. Hernes found Yang on the back post – Yang one touch headed over to Abigail Solomon on the doorstep – for a photo-finishing header.
  • 83' | The second half goals came rolling in once more. Alex Chang's throw-in started a sequence that saw Addison Bray, with her back to the goal, head a pass for Tina Teik to tip up and over the keeper.

  • Abigail Solomon's goal in the second half was the first of her career.
  • Tina Teik registered her second goal of the second and third of her career.
  • Nana Yang's goal and assist marked the first multi-point game of her career. It was also her first set of points this season.
  • Kyla Holmes picked up her fourth shutout of the season in goal.
  • Amelia Warren made her collegiate debut. 
  • The last time Yale shutout a team by three-or-more goals was during the 2023 season when they defeated Seattle on the road, 4-0, on Sept. 3, 2023.
  • Their last win by three goals was at Fordham on Sept. 25, 2023.
  • Yale's last four-game win-streak came during the 2019 season where they won four-straight from Oct. 8 – Oct. 26, 2019 against Albany, Dartmouth, Cornell, and Penn.
