NEW HAVEN, Conn. -
Charlie Egeland and
Noah Millard each captured three individual first place finishes as the Yale University men's swimming and diving team collected a 209-91 victory over Columbia today.
"Today's victory marked a significant step forward in our pursuit of team goals," said the Robert J.H. Kiputh Coach of Men's and Women's Swimming and Diving,
Jim Henry. "The team remained fully present, tackling each event one at a time and maximizing performance as if the score was reset to zero at the start of each challenge. We are looking forward to taking our momentum into Ohio State next week."
In addition,
Jackson Lipscomb set a new team-record on the three meter board with a score of 396.08 points.
Results
- Egeland took the top spot in the 100 breaststroke in 53.89 and the 200 breaststroke in 1:58.29. He also won the 200 individual medley in 1:49.55.
- Millard first in the 1000 freestyle in 9:11.50 and the 500 freestyle in 4:20.74. His time of 48.26 in the 100 backstroke also led the field in that event.
- Nick Finch registered a time of 19.84 for a first place finish in the 50 freestyle. He also added a first place finish in the 100 butterfly in 47.44.
- Nicholas Chau led the way on the one-meter board with a score of 340.58.
- Jake Wang recorded first place in the 100 freestyle with a time of 44.72.
- Manoli Mountantonakis touched the wall first in the 200 backstroke in 1:48.15.
- The 200 medley relay of Wang, Egeland, Finch and Deniel Nankov won the event in 1:27.33.
- The 400 freestyle relay quartet of Finch, Nankov, Alexander Hazlett and Millard claimed first place in 2:57.60.
The Bulldogs return to action on November 21 for day one of the Ohio State Invitational.
