NEW HAVEN, Conn. – The Yale women's basketball team got some noteworthy contributions from the Class of 2024 on Senior Day at Lee Amphitheater Saturday afternoon against Columbia, but ultimately it was not enough to take down the first-place Lions. Columbia jumped out to a 27-7 lead after the first quarter, and after Yale trimmed its deficit to 15 by halftime the Lions pulled away in the second half for a 76-50 win.
All three of Yale's healthy seniors started: guard
Klara Astrom, guard
Jenna Clark and forward
Brenna McDonald. They, along with injured forward
Haley Sabol, were honored before the game. Clark finished with 16 points, while McDonald added 13.
Columbia (21-5, 12-1 Ivy League) remains tied with Princeton for first place in the Ivy League standings.
