PRINCETON, N.J. – The Yale men's tennis team gave No. 24 Princeton all it could handle before falling 4-3.
In doubles, the Yale duo of
Theo Dean and
Aidan Reilly defeated Filippos Astreinidis and Paul Inchauspe, who are ranked No. 36 by the ITA. That victory coupled with
Vignesh Gogineni and
Eric Li winning at No. 2 earned the Bulldogs the doubles point.
In singles, Gogineni was a straight sets winner over Inchauspe, who is ranked No. 34, at No. 1. In addition,
Eric Li won a pair of tiebreakers to defeat Sebastian Sec at No. 3.
Yale is now 11-9 overall and 2-2 in Ivy play.
After playing three of their first four Ivy matches on the road, the Bulldogs are home for their next two – hosting Columbia and Cornell next weekend.
