PHOENIX, Ariz. – The Yale softball team wrapped up the ASU/GCU Invitational with a pair of losses, falling 9-0 to Seattle before dropping an 11-3 decision to Grand Canyon later in the day.
Game 1: Seattle 9, Yale 0
- Seattle took an early lead with two runs in the first inning.
- The Redhawks extended their advantage to 5-0 in the third.
- Seattle capped off the scoring with four more runs in the fourth.
Game 2: Grand Canyon 11, Yale 3
- After falling behind 2-0 in the first, Yale battled back to tie the game in the third when Elena Ohe delivered a two-RBI single to the right side.
- Grand Canyon responded in the fourth with a two-run home run to regain the lead. A double to left later in the inning made it 5-2.
- The Antelopes added another run in the fifth with a solo home run to left.
- Yale answered with a solo shot from Lauren Perren to right field.
- Grand Canyon put the game out of reach with a five-run sixth inning, securing the 11-3 victory.
