Women’s Soccer Drops Road Contest at Harvard

CAMBRIDGE, Mass. – The Yale women's soccer team fell to Harvard, 3-0, on Saturday afternoon at Jordan Field. The Crimson scored twice before halftime and added a third goal in the second half to secure the victory.

Harvard improved to 9-3-1 (3-1-0 Ivy), and Yale dropped to 5-8-0 (0-4-0 Ivy).

"Harvard is special in the way they can attack," said Sarah Martinez, the Loring Family Head Coach of Women's Soccer. "You've got to be buttoned up for 90 minutes against them because they will punish mistakes and they did just that.  I was happy with the way our group battled till the end. The last 20 minutes we were pushing and were able to generate some chances, but just couldn't get a goal."

"We are excited to be back home to try and get back in the win column," added Martinez.

Scoring Summary
  • 11' | Off a throw-in, Jasmine Leshnick played the ball to Brooke Huleatt, who finished from in front of goal. 1-0 HARVARD

  • 66' | Ólöf Kristinsdóttir extended Harvard's lead with a solo effort, weaving through Yale's defense before finishing for the goal. 3-0 HARVARD
