Balanced Attack Leads Yale Over Princeton

Four Bulldogs post 8 or more kills in road sweep

PRINCETON, N.J. -- Four Bulldogs had eight or more kills and Yale hit .378 in a 3-0 victory at Princeton on Friday night.  The scores of the match were 25-19, 25-19, and 25-20.

Set one (25-19, Yale)
  • The Bulldogs never trailed in the opening set.
  • Cam Bolane and Ava Poinsett started the set with a block to set the tone.
  • Yale hit .500 with 12 kills and only two errors on 20 swings.
Set two (25-19, Yale)
  • Betsy Goodenow had five kills and hit .500 in the set.
  • The Bulldogs lead by as many as six (21-15) in the frame.
  • Yale held a 17-13 edge in digs and posted a 1.000 reception percentage without allowing an ace.
Set three (25-20, Yale)
  • The Bulldogs out-blocked Princeton 3-1 in the set.  Abraham was involved in all of them (three block assists).
  • Six different Bulldogs had at least two kills and the team hit .429.
  • Kalyssa Taggart dished out 12 assists on 17 Yale kills.
Notes
  • The Bulldogs improved to 9-3 overall and 3-1 in the Ivy League.
  • Bolane led the team with 10 kills and reached double-figures for the second straight match.
  • Goodenow finished with nine kills and now has 848 in her Yale career.
  • Poinsett just missed a double-double with eight kills and a team-high 11 digs.
