  • Tight end Graham Smith has scored a touchdown in five of Yale's seven games this season.
  • Quarterback Dante Reno has moved up to No. 4 in passing touchdowns for a Yale career, throwing 38 in 18 games with the Bulldogs.

  • The Yale defense is No. 3 in the country in third down defense, stopping conversions on 70 of 95 attempts this season.
  • Former Bulldog running back Josh Pitsenberger '26 signed a practice squad deal with the Houston Texans on Nov. 2. He returns to Texas after playing one preseason game with the team in August.
  • After Yale's victory and Harvard's defeat this weekend, the Bulldogs' path to an Ivy League title is simple: Yale needs to win its final three games (vs. Brown, vs. Princeton, @ Harvard), and Dartmouth needs to lose one of its final three games (@ Princeton, @ Cornell, vs. Brown).
The Series
  • Yale has defeated Brown more than any other team in program history, going 89-35-5 in 129 matchups dating back to 1880.
  • More recently, the Bulldogs have won eight-straight games against the Bears and 11 of their last 12. During that eight-game winning streak, Yale has scored an average of 49.6 points per game. When playing at the Yale Bowl, the Bulldogs have a 50-23-1 record against Brown.
  • Last year's matchup between Yale and Brown was a decisive 34-22 win for the Bulldogs, the fourth game in a six-game winning streak that led to Yale's 19th Ivy League title and first-ever appearance in the FCS Playoffs. Josh Pitsenberger and Nico Brown both scored multiple touchdowns, while Abu Kamara and Phoenix Grant combined for 21 total tackles and four tackles for loss.
  • During their eight-game winning streak against Brown, the Bulldogs won each matchup by an average of 26.4 points.
Scouting Brown
  • Brown was picked to finish seventh in the 2026 Ivy Football Preseason Poll, with 45 points. In 2025, the Bears salvaged a 2-5 conference record after starting 0-5 in the Ivy, ultimately going 5-5 overall. Key victories for Brown included a 28-21 over then No. 8 Rhode Island, and a 35-28 win over Dartmouth to close out the season.
  • The Bears are 4-3 overall and 2-2 in Ivy play this season, still searching for their first winning record under head coach James Perry in his seventh season. Brown started 0-2 in conference play after losses to Harvard and Princeton, but clawed its way back to .500 after an overtime victory over Cornell and most recently, an emphatic 36-17 win against Penn.
  • The Brown offense is led by quarterback James Murphy, who through seven games has thrown for 1,792 yards (second in the Ivy League) with four touchdowns and 10 interceptions, tied for most in the conference. Their top offensive weapon is running back Matt Childs, who leads the team in rushing with 426 yards, and receiving with 447 yards on 40 catches.
  • Their defense features the top-two tacklers in the Ivy League, linebackers Max Malo and Stefano Montella. This season, they've combined for 148 tackles and 8.5 tackles for loss. Defensive back Camryn Williams-Dalton has anchored the Brown secondary, intercepting four passes and breaking up another eight.
  • On special teams, placekicker Drew Crabtree is the only kicker in the Ivy League still perfect on all attempts. He's currently 8-8 on field goals, with a season long of 48 yards and 17-17 on PATs.
Cahill's Corner
"We're fired up to be back in the Yale Bowl this week," said Kevin Cahill, Joel E. Smilow '54 Head Coach of Football. "Our focus is on building on last week's performance and taking another step forward as a team. Brown is playing with confidence and tremendous momentum, and we know we'll need to be at our best in all three phases. We're looking forward to the challenge and the opportunity to compete in front of our home crowd."
