Pascal Named to Tewaaraton Award Watch List

NEW HAVEN, Conn. – Senior defender Emmy Pascal (Lorton, Va.), who helped the Yale women's lacrosse team to an Ivy League Tournament Championship and a pair of wins in the NCAA Tournament last year, has been named to the Tewaaraton Award Watch List. The Tewaaraton committee announced the selections Tuesday.

The Tewaaraton Award annually honors the top college lacrosse players (one female, one male) in the United States.

Pascal, Yale's captain, is on the Watch List for the second straight season. So far this year she has also been named a preseason All-American by ILWomen and USA Lacrosse.

Last year Pascal was named honorable mention USA Lacrosse All-America. She was a first team IWLCA All-Northeast Region and second team All-Ivy League honoree, and was named to the IWLCA Academic Honor Roll. She started all 20 games for Yale defense that ranked No. 4 nationally in scoring defense, finishing tied for third on the team in ground balls (27) and caused turnovers (15). She was a key part of Yale's clears, helping the Bulldogs rank sixth nationally and second in Ivy League in clearing percentage (.936).

Pascal is a graduate of St. Stephen's and St. Agnes School.

The initial women's Tewaaraton Award Watch List includes 50 players. Players not named to this initial list will have opportunities to play their way into a spot as the season progresses. Watch List additions will be announced on March 5 and March 26. The field will be narrowed to 25 men's and 25 women's nominees on April 16. Nominees can be players from the Watch Lists or not from the Watch Lists, effectively allowing for a third round of additions.

Five men's and five women's finalists will be announced in early May. The Tewaaraton Award recipients will be chosen after the conclusion of the collegiate lacrosse season. The Finalists will be honored and this year's recipients announced live on May 28 at the Tewaaraton Ceremony in Washington, D.C.

Yale, ranked No. 14 in the ILWomen preseason national poll, opens the 2026 season at UMass Lowell on Saturday.
