Harvard, Dartmouth in Town this Weekend

NEW HAVEN, Conn. – The Yale women's basketball team (5-16, 1-7 Ivy League) hosts a pair of Ivy League games this weekend. The Bulldogs play Harvard Friday (6:00 p.m., ESPN+, International Stream, Live Stats, Tickets) and Dartmouth Saturday (5:00 p.m., ESPN+, International Stream, Live Stats, Tickets).
 
Last Game
Yale jumped out to a 13-0 lead last Saturday afternoon against Brown at the Pizzitola Center, holding the Bears scoreless on their first eight shots of the game. But Brown regrouped in emphatic fashion by going on a 22-1 run. The two teams then settled in, trading runs and remaining within eight points of each other until the fourth quarter. The Bears eventually pulled away for a 66-52 win.
 
Best in the League in Blocks
Yale leads the Ivy League in blocked shots per game (4.81). The Bulldogs have the top two in the league in blocks per league game: junior forward Mary Meng (Grafton, Ohio) is first at 1.9 and first-year forward Dorka Kastl (Budapest, Hungary) is second at 1.7.
 
Career Highs for Captain Capstraw
Senior forward Kiley Capstraw (West Orange, N.J.), Yale's captain, has established career highs in assists (75; previous high 70, 2024-25), rebounds (120; previous high 93, 2024-25) and steals (32; previous high 25, 2023-24). She is also on pace for her best shooting percentage (.381; previous high .369, 2022-23). Capstraw is averaging a career-high 35.3 minutes per game (previous high 32.5, 2023-24). She is third in the Ivy League in assists per game (3.9), fifth in assist/turnover ratio (1.3) and ninth in rebounds per game (6.3).
 
Moore from Ciniya
Sophomore guard Ciniya Moore (Bradenton, Fla.) is third in the Ivy League in scoring (16.6 points per game). That is a 10 point improvement on her scoring average from last season.

Two Bulldogs have started all 21 games this season: sophomore guard Ciniya Moore (Bradenton, Fla.) and junior forward Luisa Vydrova (Prague,Czech Republic).

This weekend marks the second time in two weeks that Yale will play both Dartmouth and Harvard. That is the shortest stretch of time (14 days between games) for any of Yale's Ivy League opponents this season. Scouting Harvard
Harvard  (13-8, 6-2 Ivy League) enters the weekend tied for second in the Ivy League standings with Columbia, one game back of No. 24 Princeton. The Crimson has won four in a row, including a victory over Yale when these two teams met at Lavietes Pavilion on Jan. 30. Harvard leads the Ivy League in turnover margin (+3.95 per game). The Crimson has allowed just 50.5 points per game in league games, best in the league by nearly 6.0 points per game (Columbia is second at 56.3).
 
Scouting Dartmouth
Dartmouth (10-11, 1-7 Ivy League) started the season 8-2 but has gone just 2-9 since. The Big Green commits just 10.7 fouls per game, the best average in the nation. Guard Zeynep Ozel is second in the Ivy League in assists per game (4.2) and fourth in the league in three pointers per game (2.0).
