NEW HAVEN, Conn. – Ben Friedman shined in net for the Bulldogs, making 20 saves en route to a 16-11 upset of nationally-ranked Boston University on Saturday afternoon at Reese Stadium.
Offensively, the Bulldogs were led by sophomore attack
Connor Gately and senior attack
David Anderson (four goals, one assist), who combined for 12 points on the day.
With the win, Yale improves to 2-1, and BU drops to 2-2.
Notable Performances
- Gately paced the offense with a seven-point performance, netting four goals, three assists and picked up three ground balls.
- Friedman's 20 saves on the day came at a .645 rate.
- Peter Moynihan, Cole Jackson and Sean Grogan each scored two goals.
- Flynn Leonard and Luke Pascal both had goals.
- Nick Wehmeyer led the way with five ground balls.
- Wehmeyer also went 11-20 on face-offs.
