VERO BEACH, Fla. – The Yale baseball team picked up its first win of the 2026 season, downing Bethune-Cookman 8-3 in the final game of the Andre Dawson Classic.
Chace Chaplin drove in three runs, and
Ben Winslow earned the victory on the mound for the Bulldogs.
With the victory, Yale improved to 1-2 overall. Bethune-Cookman dropped to 4-3 overall.

- Chaplin went 2-for-4 with three RBIs.
- Garrett Larsen reached base four times, going 2-for-2 and reaching two more times after being hit by pitches.

Game Notes
- Larsen is off to a blistering start this season. In the first three games, the junior went 7-for-9 and has reached base 10 times.
- Kaiden Dossa picked up two hits and has hit safely in all three games this season.
- Alex Hwang started on the mound for the Bulldogs. He tossed 5.0 innings while allowing two earned runs.
- Ben Winslow came on in relief, earning the victory. The junior hurled 3.2 innings, allowing one run while striking out four. Tate Evans came on to get the final out of the game.
- Sloan recorded his first multi-hit game of the season.
