NEW HAVEN, Conn. – Looking to bounce back after a hard-fought defeat against Harvard on Saturday, the Yale men's basketball team returns to action this week, hosting Brown on Friday, Feb. 6, and then will hit the road for a non-conference matchup against Howard on Monday, Feb. 9.

Last Time Out
- Trevor Mullin and Nick Townsend each posted double-digit performances, but it wasn't enough, as Harvard sank a bank-shot three pointer with four seconds remaining to edge Yale, 67-65, on Saturday.
- After Harvard extended its lead to 53–47 with 6:05 remaining, Yale responded with a 7–0 run, including five points from Townsend, to take a 54–53 lead.
- The Crimson answered with four consecutive points to regain a three-point advantage at 57–54. The teams traded baskets down the stretch, with Mullin scoring twice in the final two minutes.
- He connected on a three-pointer to give Yale a 59–58 lead, then followed with a jumper 30 seconds later to make it 61–60 at the 1:33 mark. Townsend put Yale ahead with 56 seconds remaining (63–62) and again with 21 seconds left (65–64), but Harvard hit a three-pointer in the closing seconds to secure the win.

Brown Rewind

- In the victory, Fox tallied a team-high 18 points and the Bulldogs shot 65% (13-of-20) in the second half.
- Fox tallied 18 points on 8-of-11 shooting, went 2-of-3 from three, and grabbed three rebounds. 11 of his points came in the second half.
- Aletan notched 13 points on 5-of-7 shooting, along with nine rebounds, two assists, and a team-high four blocks. Nine of his points came in the second half.
- Townsend recorded a double-double with 10 points and a team-high 10 rebounds. He also posted a team-high five assists, two steals, and a block.
Scouting the Bears
- Brown enters the weekend with a 7-13 record (1-6 Ivy).
- The Bears are coming off a 77-70 loss to Dartmouth on Saturday.
- In the defeat, Landon Lewis led the way with a game-high 21 points to go along with 14 rebounds. Jeremiah Jenkins added 10 points, three rebounds, six assists and two steals.
- Down 63-54 with 2:47 remaining, Brown closed the game on an 11-2 run to force overtime. Two three-pointers from Charlie O'Sullivan and one from Luke Paragon helped propel the Bears to overtime.
- In overtime, Dartmouth outscored Brown 12-5 as it scored eight of its 12 points off Brown turnovers.
- Lewis leads the Bears in scoring and rebounding, averaging 15.6 points per game and 7.1 rebounds per game.
Howard Rewind
- The Bulldogs and Bison last met on Jan. 1, 2025, with Yale winning in dominant fashion, 93-65.
- In the victory, Yale opened the game with a 7-0 run, sparked by Aletan who had five of the Bulldogs' seven points in the opening two and a half minutes, and never looked back.
- Four Bulldogs scored in double-figures, but Aletan's 15-point first half coupled with his 6-7 shooting from the field and his 7-7 perfection from the free throw line for the game was a bright spot for Yale.
- Aletan's 19-point performance was a career high.
- In addition to Aletan, Townsend (14 points) and Fox (11 points) had double-digit performances.
Scouting the Bison
- Howard enters with a 14-9 record (4-3 MEAC).
- The Bison are coming off a 72-53 victory over Coppin State on Monday. The team is slated to face South Carolina State on Saturday.
- In the victory over Coppin State, Cedric Taylor paced the Bison with 21 points to lead four in double figures.
- The win was the second straight for Howard.
- Bryce Harris leads the Bison on offense, averaging 17.3 points per game.
