NEW HAVEN, Conn. – First year Samson Frey of the Yale women's ice hockey team was named ECAC Hockey MAC Goaltending Goalie of the Month and WHCA National Co-Goalie of the Month after an outstanding month of January in net for the Bulldogs.
Frey earned the starting goaltender job in January and has been nothing short of spectacular. The New York native posted a perfect 10-0-0 record, a .950 save percentage, and a 1.07 goals-against average. Frey recorded three shutouts and has helped Yale to an 11-game winning streak, its best since 2023. The first year leads the country in goals-against average (.969) and is second in save percentage (.955).
The Bulldogs will be back in action against No. 11 Clarkson and St. Lawrence on Friday, Feb. 6, and Saturday, Feb. 7, at Ingalls Rink.
