CARY, N.C. – USA Baseball today announced the preseason watch list for the Golden Spikes Award, beginning the process of identifying the best amateur baseball player in the nation for the 2026 season. Sophomore pitcher
Jack Ohman was named to the list after an outstanding debut season for the Bulldogs.
Ohman is coming off an unbelievable first year for the Bulldogs. The Arizona native was honored as the top pitcher in the Ivy League and proved himself as one of the best hurlers in the nation. Ohman ranked first in the NCAA with a minuscule 1.34 ERA. Ohman tossed 73.2 innings, recording an 8-1 record, helping lead the Bulldogs to a share of the regular season Ivy League Championship. Ohman ranked in the top three in the conference in ERA, wins, innings pitched, opposing batting average (.162), and strikeouts (78).
Last season, he was the Perfect Game College Freshman Pitcher of the year and First Team All-American. He was also a semifinalist for both the Golden Spikes Award and National Pitcher of the Year as well as ECAC Pitcher of the Year.
Ohman has been recognized as a preseason All-American and is on the Pitcher of the Year Watch List by Baseball America.
Ohman and the Yale baseball team will kick off the 2026 season on Feb. 20 at the Andre Dawson HBCU Classic.
