Bulldogs Split Doubleheader With Brown

NEW HAVEN, Conn. – The Yale baseball team opened Ivy League play by splitting a doubleheader with Brown on Saturday afternoon at George H.W. Bush '48 Field. The Bulldogs powered past the Bears 14-7 in the opener before falling 2-1 in game two.

With the split, Yale moves to 9-7 overall with a 1-1 mark in conference play. Brown is now 6-10 overall with a 1-1 record in Ivy League competition.

Top Performers
• Junior Kaiden Dossa went 5-for-9 with a home run, a double, and five RBIs in the doubleheader.
• Despite the loss in game two, pitcher Ben Winslow was outstanding on the mound for the Bulldogs. Winslow tossed 7.0 innings, allowing only one run while striking out eight.

Game 1 – Yale 14, Brown 7
Scoring Summary
• T1 | Brown scored three runs in the first to open the game. 3-0 BROWN
• T3 | The Bears added two more to extend their early lead. 5-0 BROWN
• B3 | Yale responded with five runs of its own. Colin Sloan, Kaiden Dossa, Jack Dauer, and Chris DiPrima each delivered RBI singles. 5-5
• T4 | The visitors regained the lead on a two-RBI single by DJ Dillehay. 7-5 BROWN

• B7 | Dossa continued his strong performance with a two-run homer to left. 12-7 YALE
• B8 | The Bulldogs tacked on two more runs to seal the victory. 14-7 YALE

Game Notes
• Dossa went 3-for-4 with six RBIs and hit his third home run of the season.
• Dauer added three hits and three RBIs. He hit his second home run of the year and leads the team with 20 RBIs.
Jack Ohman started on the mound, allowing six runs over 3.1 innings while striking out six.
Tate Evans earned the win in relief, tossing 4.2 innings and allowing only one earned run.

Game 2 – Brown 2, Yale 1
Scoring Summary
• B1 | Dossa drove in Bryce Miller for the game's first run. 1-0 YALE
• T7 | Brown tied the game on an RBI single by Mika Petersen. 1-1
• T8 | The Bears took the lead on a solo home run by Alex Benevento. 2-1 BROWN

• Dossa stole three bases and is now a perfect 7-for-7 on stolen base attempts this season.
Alex Hwang started for the Bulldogs, tossing 2.0 innings before being relieved by Winslow.
• Miller extended his on-base streak to 13 games.
