NEW HAVEN, Conn. – The first year duo of David Leidl and Dijon Fosu each scored goals to lead the Yale men's soccer team to a shutout win over non-conference foe New Haven on Tuesday evening at Reese Stadium. The Bulldogs topped the Chargers 2-0 to earn their second victory of the season.
With the win, Yale improved to 2-5 overall and will begin conference play on Saturday. New Haven dropped to 1-7 overall.
"I am really proud of the guys for a gutsy performance after a quick turnaround from the weekend," said Kylie Stannard, the 5K Corral Head Coach of the Bulldogs. "New Haven has some dangerous players so I am especially pleased with the shutout which will always give us a chance to win games. I think we can be really excited about the scoring chances we are creating but we do need to improve our efficiency in those moments."
