Corey Keane joined the Yale baseball staff as an assistant coach for the 2022 season.
Keane brought with him a wealth of experience from his previous five seasons at Quinnipiac, where he played a key role in the Bobcats’ historic 2019 campaign. That year, Quinnipiac captured both the MAAC regular season and tournament championships, advancing to the NCAA Regionals. Their final win of the season came at No. 10 Eastern Carolina in the NCAA Regionals—marking their 30th victory, which set a Quinnipiac program record.
Since joining Yale, Keane has helped elevate the program to new heights. In 2025, the Bulldogs finished with the third-most wins in program history (31-14 overall record, 16-5 Ivy League) and captured the Ivy League regular-season title for the third time in program history.
The 2025 team led the Ivy League in several key statistical categories, including batting average (.289), on-base percentage (.400), stolen bases (101), and hit-by-pitches (95). They also finished second in runs scored, total hits, and RBIs.
The Bulldogs experienced similar success in 2026, recording their second straight 30-win season and Ivy League Regular season title. Yale hosted the Ivy League Tournament and emerged victorious with a perfect 3-0 record in tournament play. Keane helped the Bulldogs qualify for their first NCAA Tournament appearance.
In 2026, the Bulldogs led the Ivy League in batting average (.282), runs (350), hits (432), doubles (98), triples (11), RBIs (301), walks (211), and stolen bases (126).
Keane’s expertise has been instrumental in developing an aggressive, high-pressure style of play, with Yale leading the Ivy League in stolen bases in all four seasons (2023-26) under his guidance.
Keane has also coached 12 position players who have earned All-Ivy honors during his tenure, including five selections in 2025 and four in 2026. Notably, Jack Dauer was named Ivy League Rookie of the Year in 2025.
In 2025, the Bulldogs had two players named to the First Team: Jack Dauer (3B) and Alec Atkinson (DH), while Jake Williams (2B), Kaiden Dossa (CF), and Tommy Martin (RF) earned Second Team recognition. In 2024, Alec Atkinson (1B) and Jeff Pierantoni (SS) made the Second Team, with Davis Hanson (3B) earning Honorable Mention. In 2023, AJ Gaich (CF) was named to the Second Team.
Keane played collegiately at Eastern Connecticut State University, where he helped the Warriors win the Little East Conference Championship in 2014 and was named First-Team All-Conference in 2015.
