Jay Cordone started at Yale University in 2005 and was promoted to Head Athletic Trainer in the summer of 2016. During his tenure with the Bulldogs, Cordone has worked with football, men’s lacrosse, women’s volleyball, softball and the men's and women’s swimming and diving teams. He has been part of numerous championship teams, including the 2018 men's lacrosse national title campaign.
Cordone, a member of the National Athletic Trainers Association (NATA), oversees all the day-to-day operations of the athletic training department while traveling with teams in the fall and spring. His work with the football team began in 2009, while his first season with the men's lacrosse team was 2015.
He has been an approved clinical instructor for the Quinnipiac University undergraduate athletic training program since 2006, overseeing student interns and teaching clinical curriculum. Cordone has also had experience working as a summer intern with the NFL Buffalo Bills.
A native of Yorktown Hts, N.Y., Cordone attended Quinnipiac University, graduating with honors in 2005 with a degree in sports medicine/athletic training. He joined the Bulldogs in August of 2005 as an athletic training intern.
