Ryan Koester joined the Yale Athletics staff in August 2026.
Prior to joining the Bulldogs, Koester had served as an assistant strength and conditioning coach at Iowa since August 2023. Prior to his time with the Hawkeyes, Koester spent two years as an assistant athletic performance coach at Illinois State from 2021 to 2023. His background also includes serving as a strength and conditioning coach at the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign (2020–2021) and as a graduate assistant strength and conditioning coach at Montana (2018–2020). He interned as a strength and conditioning coach at Iowa in the summer of 2017. Additionally, Koester gained experience as a strength and conditioning coach at Bystol Performance Center in Highland Park, Ill.
Koester earned his Master’s degree in kinesiology and exercise science from Montana in 2020 after completing his undergraduate studies at Loras College in 2018.
