NEW HAVEN, Conn. — Yale men's squash earned a 6-3 victory over No. 8 Princeton on Sunday afternoon at the Brady Squash Center. The Ivy League win was the Bulldogs' second in as many days after they began the weekend with a 7-2 defeat of No. 10 Penn on Saturday. 

As in Saturday's match, the depth of Yale's lineup in the middle and bottom slots carried the Bulldogs to the win. The same group of four freshmen who won their matches against Penn — Edward Columbia, Max Martin, Thomas Kingshott, and Pierson Broadwater — repeated the feat against Princeton. Broadwater's match was especially notable as he came out on top of an exciting five-game contest that saw the fourth and fifth frames go into tiebreak points (11-6,9-11,11-5,12-14,13-11).

The addition of wins from senior captain Joseph Roberts and sophomore Liam McClintock gave the Bulldogs a stretch of success from No. 3 to No. 8 that more than made up for the team's losses at No. 9 and in the top two spots. 

With this weekend's victories, this young Yale team showed it could rise to the challenge of Ivy League play as it took both must-win matches against capable opponents. The Bulldogs will wrap up the regular season this week with their final three league matches against No. 13 Brown, No. 6 Harvard and No. 11 Dartmouth. With Harvard's victory over No. 3 Columbia this weekend, Yale remains in the running for a share of the Ivy title.
