Yale Falls To Central Michigan 2-0

CLEARWATER, Fla. – Camille Weisenbach had two hits and knocked in three runs as Yale topped Toledo 8-6 at the Michele Smith Spring Break Tournament. In their second game of the day, the Bulldogs fell to Central Michigan 2-0.

Yale banged out 10 hits in the win over Toledo. A pair of three-run innings led the way.

Hannah Brennan and Rachel Paris each had two hits, and Allison Skinner added two RBI.

Lindsay Efflandt was the winning pitcher.

Against Central Michigan, the Bulldogs were limited to four hits – singles by Sydney Glover, Sarah Onorato, Weisenbach and Brittany Labbadia.

Francesca Casalino was the hard-luck losing pitcher. She struck out six and did not allow an earned run in seven innings.

"Our offense is coming along with every at bat," said Yale head coach Jen Goodwin. "We came out swinging against a strong Toledo team, and added onto the lead in every inning. Sydney Glover and Camille Weisenbach keep making things happen, and Rachel Paris had a banner day at the plate.

"Against Central Michigan, Francesca had complete control of the CMU hitters, and Sarah Onorato called a brilliant game from behind the plate. Offensively we had runners on base almost every inning but just couldn't find a timely hit."

The Bulldogs (3-5), close out their stay in Florida by playing Wisconsin-Green Bay on Sunday at 9 a.m.
