Box Score 2 Labbadia Has Three Hits On Day For Bulldogs
ORLANDO, Fla. – Yale ran into two more hot teams in sunny Florida. Penn State banged out 11 hits to top the Bulldogs 6-2 in the first game of the day, and East Carolina overcame an early deficit to defeat Yale 7-2.
Brittany Labbadia had three on the day for the Bulldogs.
In the opener, Penn State (6-5) scored three times in the first inning and twice in the fifth to seize control.
Labbadia went 2-for-3 with an RBI. Laina Do also knocked in a run. Allison Skinner also had two hits. Rachel Paris delivered a pinch-hit single, and Sydney Ginsberg had a hit and scored a run.
Against East Carolina, Yale grabbed a 1-0 lead in the first. Shelby Kennedy walked, advanced to third on Lauren Delgadillo's single and scored on a Skinner sacrifice fly.
The Pirates, though, answered with a run in the bottom of the first and took the lead for good with another run in the third.
Kennedy, a freshman, had the first multi-hit game of her young career as she tallied a pair of singles. Camille Weisenbach also had a hit.
The Bulldogs play their final game of the weekend trip on Sunday when they take on Morgan State at 10 a.m.
