NEW HAVEN, Conn. - The Yale women's swimming and diving team won its second event of the weekend on Saturday, taking down Brown by a score of 173-127. The victory moves the Bulldogs to 2-0 on the season.

Yale did not find as much success in the freestyle events on Saturday as it did on Friday, but did win two of the events. Sophomore
Ali Truwit won the 1000-yard freestyle (10:16.40), while captain
Kendall Brent finished just behind Truwit with a time of 10:19.18. Sophomore
Izzi Henig won the 50-yard freestyle (23.59).

Yale swept the backstroke and breaststroke events on Saturday. First-year Jaime Yeh won the first event of her collegiate career, pacing all swimmers in the 100-yard backstroke (56.49). Junior
Cate Sawkins won her first event of the season in the 200-yard backstroke (2:00.61). Yale's sophomore class came through in the breaststroke events.
MaryKate Buckley (1:04.98) took first in the 100-yard breaststroke, while
Olivia Paoletti won the 200-yard breaststroke (2:19.85).

Caitlin Tycz won her first event in a Bulldogs' suit, taking first in the 100-yard butterfly (55.33).

For the second consecutive day, junior
Nikki Watters finished with the highest diving scores in the 1-meter diving event (273.23).

The Bulldogs will take on Columbia next Friday in their first away meet of the season.
