Bulldogs to Compete in Penn State Invitational

Five Bouts On Tap

NEW HAVEN, Conn. - The Yale women's fencing team is scheduled to compete against five schools at the Philadelphia Invitational hosted by Penn.on Sunday.The first round of bouting begins at 8:30 a.m. and the last round begins at 4:45 p.m.

The Bulldogs eagerly anticipate the first-round rematch against Notre Dame, against whom the team narrowly lost 15-12 at the beginning of the season. After a bye in the second round, the team will fence against Temple, looking to maintain and improve upon a 14-13 win last week.

After the lunch break, the Bulldogs face off against Wayne, NYU and Drew in the fourth, sixth and seventh rounds respectively. Last year, the Bulldogs enjoyed a 19-8 victory against NYU. While the team has not fenced Wayne or Drew this season or last, in the past the Bulldogs have consistently earned decisive victories against both schools.
