Yale's defensive dominance in Ivy League play continues. The Bulldogs have now not allowed a goal through their first four league games. Unfortunately on this night, Yale couldn't quite capitalize on its scoring chances, and the result was a scoreless tie with Penn at Rhodes Field.

Goalkeeper
Elian Haddock was again outstanding, finishing with seven saves to post his fifth shutout of the season. Haddock got plenty of support from his defense, which was in strong position throughout the game to thwart Penn's pressure. The Quakers had 10 corner kicks, but the Bulldogs defended each and every one nearly flawlessly.

Yale had the best scoring opportunity of the game midway through the second half.
Gelber Lemus sent a gorgeous corner kick into the box.
Paolo Carroll got off a strong header, but it deflected off the crossbar.
Â
The Bulldogs (5-4-4, 2-0-2 Ivy) also had an edge in play in the two overtime periods, outshooting the Quakers 4-3
Â
"This definitely did not feel like a 0-0 game," said
Kylie Stannard, the 5K Corral Head Coach of the Bulldogs. "Both teams created some very good chances tonight but also had some very good collective defending and goalkeeping. I felt like we got better as the game went along and I liked our chances if we had more time."
Â
Yale, playing its first league game away from home, extended its unbeaten streak to six games overall.
Â
"It's not the result we wanted, but it was good to get our first Ivy road game under our belt and take something away from it," Stannard said.
Â
This was the fourth tie in the last seven meetings between teams.
Â
The Bulldogs are back on the road again next Saturday, playing at Columbia. Kickoff is slated for 7 p.m.
