ATLANTA, Ga. – The Yale softball team dropped a pair of games to Georgia State, 3-1 and 15-0, to open play at the I-75 Tournament.
Game 1: Georgia State 3, Yale 1
- B2 – Georgia State struck first with a two-run second inning, stringing together three consecutive two-out hits to take a 2-0 lead.
- B3 – The Panthers added to their advantage in the third with a two-out double to left field, extending the lead to 3-0.
- T5 – Ella Gandolfo led off the inning with a single to left and stole second. Elena Ohe followed with a single to bring Gandolfo home for Yale's lone run.
- Emma Taylor went the distance in the circle, tossing six innings with three strikeouts.
Game 2: Georgia State 15, Yale 0
- B1 – The Panthers opened the scoring with a three-run first inning.
- B2 – Georgia State added two more in the second to extend the lead to 5-0.
- B3 – GSU broke the game open with 10 runs in the third inning.
- The Bulldogs were unable to answer offensively, and the Panthers secured the run-rule victory.
