Kim Wins Ivy League Title, Bulldogs Record Best Finish Since 2019

PRINCETON, N.J. – First year Yonjae Kim won the Ivy League championship in foil on Sunday evening at Princeton to help the Yale men's fencing team to its best finish since 2019. The Bulldogs tied for third overall, defeating Princeton and Penn during the two-day event.

Columbia and Harvard tied for first, followed by Yale and Princeton. Penn placed fifth overall.

  • Kim won Yale's first individual conference title since teammate Jordan Silberzweig accomplished the feat in 2024. The first year recorded a 7-2 record and was instrumental in the Bulldogs' wins down the stretch.
  • The Bulldogs defeated Princeton at the Ivy League Championships for the first time since 2019. Kim clinched the match during the last bout of the contest.
  • Jack Pan and David Frumgarzts earned All-Ivy recognition in saber, tying for fourth place overall.
  • Konstantin Vaysbukh was the team's top performer in epee, placing 10th overall.
