NEW HAVEN, Conn. -- The Bulldogs host Cornell and Columbia this weekend while looking to extend their 14-match win streak. Yale enters action 16-1 overall, 8-0 in league play and with a national RPI ranking of 31. Â
In its most recent match last Friday, Yale defeated Brown 3-1 behind a strong defensive effort. Â
Maile Somera had a match-high 25 digs, the Bulldogs held a 71-46 edge over the Bears in the match andÂ
Fatima Samb finished with a team-best six blocks.Â
On offense, the Bulldogs continued to show numerous options at the net.Â
Gigi Barr,
Audrey Leak and
Mila Yarich each had a team-high 12 kills. Leak enters the week leading the Bulldogs in kills per set (3.52) in conference play.Â
Yarich on Friday also had a season-best four aces and four blocks. Yarich earned a spot on the Ivy League Weekly Honor Roll.
Carly Diehl had 48 assists, 10 digs and seven kills while hitting .400. Diehl and Yarich (12 kills and 16 digs) both had double-doubles.Â
Yale continues to rank high in numerous statistical categories on the national scene. Â

Scouting Cornell
The Big Red (4-13, 2-6 Ivy) notched their second victory of the conference season last weekend with a sweep of Columbia. Both conference wins have come against the Lions. Yale defeated Cornell 3-0 in Ithaca on Oct. 1. Joanna Craig led the Big Red with 11 kills and eight digs that night. Senior Emma Worthington ranks third in the Ivy league in assists per set, averaging 9.02. Worthington also takes third in assists among Ivy players with 550.
Scouting ColumbiaÂ
The Lions enter the weekend 4-13 overall and 1-7 in league play. The Bulldogs defeated the Lions 3-0 back on Sept. 30 in New York. The Lions had 14 block assists that night. In conference play, Saj McBurrows leads the Lions with 3.08 kills per set. McBurrows had a team-best seven kills against Yale last month.
