Bulldogs Take Top Two in Hammer at UMass Flagship Opener

AMHERST, Mass. – A select group of members of the Yale men's track and field team took part in the UMass Flagship Opener Saturday. The meet included teams from throughout the Northeast. Junior Chu Anueyiagu (53.34m) and senior Jake Sun (53.18m) went 1-2 in the hammer.

Of Yale's six top-three finishes at the event, four came from first-years.

First-year Alexander Johnson's mark of 16.29m, which won the shot put, places him eighth on Yale's all-time list. That was part of an impressive day for Johnson, who placed third in the discus throw (46.50m).
