Ivy League Opener
Yale will host Brown to begin the Ivy League season for both teams. Â The Bulldogs have won four straight matches.Â
Last Time Out
The Bulldogs (4-5) swept the Yale Invitational last week with wins over Stony Brook, Army and Sacred Heart. Yale opened with the season with three straight home wins after going 10-0 in New Haven last season.
Attar Named MVP
Junior Kathryn Attar last weekend was named Yale Invitational MVP. She averaged 3.44 kills per set, hit .443 and had eight total blocks for the three matches this weekend. Seniors Frances Arnautou and Izzy Simqu, along with sophomore Samantha Bray were named to the all-tournament team.Â
Serving It Up
The Bulldogs have 52 service aces in their first nine matches. Senior Frances Arnautou and first-year Maile Somera both lead the team with 10 aces each. Â
Spreading the Wealth
Five different Bulldogs average at least two kills per set through the first nine matches. Kathryn Attar (2.50), Rebekah Nemeth (2.77), Ellis DeJardin (2.38), Samantha Bray (2.21) and Izzy Simqu (2.10) all average at least two per set.
Bulldogs on National TV
Yale's match at Princeton on Sunday, October 13 will air on ESPNU and mark the second straight year the Bulldogs have been featured on the network. The match is scheduled to begin at 1 p.m. ET.
Scouting Brown
The Bears have opened the season with an 8-2 record. Makena Ehlert leads the team with a 3.58 kills per set average.
